EP391: LOOK AT YOUR WATCH NOW

Light and shade on this week’s podcast, as Nick and Stu discuss the high of an excellent win over Bradford, and the lows of the reality of ticket price rises, and what they tell us about the ongoing financial struggles facing the club. Alongside that stark message, there’s also the issues of Sky Sports messing with all of our lives, pointlessly, and celebrity fans making children out of people that know better. At least there is a fun ROFHOG to add some levity, before we look ahead to a trip to Mansfield. But there’s also pointless kit changes to get Nick annoyed from the get-go.

Stuart – I’m 62 and felt similarly that I wouldn’t be able to get a concession price when I get to 66 as “no new concessions”. However, that is not the case and I will (as things currently stand) be able to take a concession rate when I hit the required age. It seems that what “no new concessions” really means is that no person who has been a ST holder prior to this year will be exempt from a concession rate going forward and potentially no new younger STs in the Premium block (so U17, 18-21).
Also, why would you not give your ST back to the Club if you can’t make a game? Where is the harm? It takes ten seconds on DonsTix and helps the Club out. I was surprised to hear you say that and hope it was just a shock reaction to the eye-watering cost to watch L1 football!
